macOS subtitle editor

SceneCaptionStudio

Generate captions with local Whisper, detect scene cuts, refine subtitle timing, and export for Final Cut Pro from one focused macOS workflow.

Most AI caption tools stop after transcription. SceneCaption Studio keeps the real editing work in view: fixing text, shaping line breaks, splitting captions, adjusting timing, and aligning subtitles around scene changes.

Compose

Move from transcript to editable caption blocks in one flow.

Import media, transcribe with a local model, then refine generated cues immediately. Split, merge, remove, and adjust start or end points with keyboard-first timing controls.

Full SceneCaption Studio compose screen with subtitle settings, preview, cue editor, recognition, scene cuts, and layout controls.

Text Document

Edit generated transcripts like a word processor.

Before turning a transcript into caption blocks, refine the text in a document-style editor. Add line breaks to shape subtitle segments, control how many lines each caption uses, clean up spelling, and make the generated transcript read naturally before you compose it into timed cues.

Scene-aware timing

Time subtitles around picture edits, not only speech.

Automatic scene cut analysis finds visual edit points and lets you snap cue starts and ends near those cuts. With the timing editor, use Shift + D and Shift + F to snap subtitles to detected cut points, or use Shift + A and Shift + S to set the selected subtitle's start and end timing exactly where you want.

01

Analyze Cuts

Detect visual cut points in the video and show them on the subtitle timeline.

02

Auto Snap Range

Snap cue starts and ends to nearby scene cuts within your selected frame range.

03

Keyboard Timing

Use Shift+A and Shift+S to set start and end timing, then Shift+D and Shift+F to snap captions to analyzed scene cuts.

04

Powerful Cue Editor

Adjust subtitle boundaries from the editor instead of dragging caption edges repeatedly in your NLE.

Preview

The editing screen stays close to the final output.

Preview caption style, position, line length, aspect ratio, and burned-in export while you edit.

Export

Export MP4, SRT, and Final Cut Pro timelines.

Save edited SRT files, export burned-in captioned MP4s, and send caption FCPXML or scene cut XML into Final Cut Pro workflows.
